History of the Journal

Natural and Life Sciences Communications (Nat. Life Sci. Commun.), Formerly known as Chiang Mai University Journal of Natural Sciences (CMUJ. Nat. Sci.), is the official peer-reviewed online journal of Chiang Mai University, Thailand. It established the first issue in the year 2023, with four issues per year. Since the year 2009, our journal was indexed in Scopus database.

 

Nat. Life Sci. Commun. aims at facilitating the publication of a wide range of high-quality academic journals with an integration of various areas of natural and life sciences, including but not limited to agricultural and biological sciences, health professions, dentistry, environmental science, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutics, and medicine.

Aims and Scope

“Natural and Life Sciences Communications” is the official peer-reviewed online journal of Chiang Mai University, Thailand. The aim of the journal is to facilitate the publication of a wide range of high-quality academic papers with an integration of various areas of natural and life sciences, including but not limited to agricultural and biological sciences, health professions, dentistry, environmental science, pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics and medicine.

 

Natural and Life Sciences Communications is an online open-access journal that is committed to ensuring that all submitted manuscripts adhere to the ethical standard of academic publication. Articles that are published in our journal are subjected to double-blind peer review by at least two experts. Notably, the opinions of each author may not be agreed upon by the editorial board.

Types of Articles

Research articles;  

Reports of original research that have never been published elsewhere. The manuscript should be composed and organized according to the required sequence: 1. title page (Titles, Author names, Affiliations, Email addresses of correspondence, Acknowledgments, Funding, Author contribution) 2. main text (Titles, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Conflict of Interest, References, Tables, and Figure). Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words and 5 keywords. There is no word limit on the manuscript and no limit to the number of figures, tables, and references.

 

Review articles;

The literature reviews, systematic reviews, market reviews, and critical reviews will be accepted for consideration. Critical, comprehensive, and specific papers presenting issues of interest or topics of significant academic value. Although the main text structure may vary based on the review subtopics, content should be organized in the same manner as a research article.

 

Short communications;  

Research reports of concise nature determined by the limitations of the study or based on a very new idea and/or controversial issue, etc. The material should present complete, original, and new findings that emphasize specific research issues. The format must be similar to the original research article but presented as a brief report. Intended as a short format, these articles should be a maximum of 2,000 words (excluding references), limited to 2 figures and 2 tables, and a maximum of 20 references.

Review process

Articles that are published by our journal are double-blind, peer-reviewed by at least two experts. Importantly, the opinions of each author may not be agreed upon by the editorial board.

Publication Frequency

Four issues per year as follows;

1st issue: January-March,

2nd issue: April-June,

3rd issue: July- September,

4th issue: October-December

Special Issues (Optional)

Special issues of the Journal can also be published by prior arrangement but are limited to not more than 2 issues per year. Requests for special issues should be addressed to the Editor for consideration. Articles for special issues, whether for conferences or otherwise, should be submitted directly via the Journal website and will be subjected to the same review procedure as for articles submitted for regular issues. At the time of submission, the name of the special issue should be clearly specified.
